Every year more and more organisations across the spectrum of UK housing are taking part in our prestigious Annual Awards scheme. So don ’t hide your improvement schemes under a bushel, give them a well-deserved airing and allow other housing providers to benefit from your knowledge and experience.

These unique Awards have been gathering momentum for more than 33 years. Now they are undoubtedly the premier housing awards of their kind and highly regarded by people across the housing spectrum. Taking part in them is straight forward and it costs nothing to enter, but ultimately the kudos can be priceless. The Award Scheme’s principal target is raising the profile of the numerous significant and inspirational initiatives that are a characteristic of our nation’s remarkable ingenuity in the field of housing and environmental renovation. The Awards help pass on this ingenuity to the social housing sector, private landlords, developers, government and thousands of others with the specific mission to maintain the highest possible quality in our housing stock and its surroundings.

Each year the Award Categories are reviewed to make sure they keep pace with the changing face of housing and are truly representative of the very broadest activities of local authorities, housing associations, private developers, house-builders,smaller building companies, contractors, repre-sentative bodies, architectural practices, kitchen specialists, designers and specifiers. There are 12 Award Categories this year providing a comprehensive cross-section of opportunities for your special submission or submissions. As you will see here, each Category aims to highlight a specific aspect of refurbishment and regeneration providing ample scope for you to take part.

In addition, the NHIC may also bestow the coveted George Plucknett Award if,in the Judges ’ opinion, there is one submission which stands head and shoulders above the rest.
