Spring 2007
Dear Editor
NHIC SPRING 2007 HOME IMPROVEMENT PRESS PACKS
I am very pleased to welcome you to another of our popular and highly successful
National Home Improvement Council Spring Home Improvement Press Packs.
It contains 14 of our very latest generic articles. As you will see they
have a positive environmental message but at the same time provide valuable
advice and information for your readers on general household issues.
Once more there is a broad cross section of NHIC Members' press releases
also providing some essential information plus relevant images across the
home improvement spectrum. I hope you will feel free to use these as often
as you wish.
If you require further information or images, please contact either me or
the relevant NHIC Member on the special list of contacts elsewhere on this
CD. They are always pleased to hear from you so do give them a ring.
Probably the two most important issues which your readers should be considering
are the Home Information Pack (HIP) and household influence on global warming.
HIPs are due to come on stream in June and everyone selling their home needs
to include this document in their sales information to prospective buyers.
And, of course, global warming is a major modern issue and our homes contribute
around 35% of the carbon emissions, which is the main greenhouse gas. So we
all need to make our homes as energy efficient as possible.
If there are any home improvement subjects that you would like to feature
in your pages but which are not covered by our Press Pack, please let me know.
We'll do our best to help.
You will find an NHIC logo on this CD, which we hope you may consider using
whenever you publish one of the Press Pack articles, adding that extra touch
of authenticity to your feature. And we should like to encourage you and your
readers to visit our website -

The NHIC is constantly highlighting all aspects of home improvement and energetically
lobbies government and other decision-makers on many related issues, not least
of all the reduction of VAT on products and services involving home improvements.
We continue to seek Government support in this respect.
As I mentioned before should you require further information on any aspect
of the NHIC or these articles you can contact me on 020 7828 8230 or Andrew
Leech on 01753 884216.
Yours faithfully
Graham S Ponting
