Spring 2006

Dear Editor

NHIC SPRING 2006 HOME IMPROVEMENT PRESS PACKS

I am very pleased to welcome you to another of our popular and highly successful National Home Improvement Council Spring Home Improvement Press Packs.

It contains 16 of our very latest generic articles. They cover everything from checking out your house for defects to providing a pergola, gazebo or summerhouse.

There is also a broad cross section of NHIC Members' press releases providing some very interesting information and relevant images across the home improvement spectrum. I hope you will feel free to use these as often as you wish.

If you require further information or images, please contact either me or the relevant NHIC Member on the special list of contacts elsewhere on this CD. They are always pleased to hear from you so do give them a ring.

Probably one of the most significant steps forward in recent weeks is the launch of TrustMark which is targeted at eliminating rogue traders (there is an article on the subject in this Press Pack). And your readers will be interested to know that several of our Members are involved with TrustMark providing exclusive guarantees and consumer warranties. Each one adheres to the strictest codes of practice.

If there are any home improvement subjects that you would like to feature in your pages but are not covered by our Press Pack, please let me know. We'll do our best to help.

You will find an NHIC logo on this CD, which we hope you may consider using whenever you publish one of the Press Pack articles, adding that extra touch of authenticity to your feature. And we should like to encourage you and your readers to visit our website - www.nhic.org.uk

The NHIC is constantly highlighting all aspects of home improvement and energetically lobbies government and other decision-makers on many related issues, not least of all the reduction of VAT on products and services involving home improvements. We continue to seek Government support in this respect.

As I mentioned before should you require further information on any aspect of the NHIC or these articles you can contact me on 020 7828 8230 or Andrew Leech on 01753 884216.

Yours faithfully
