LABC is the umbrella organisation for local authority building control departments in England and Wales. It aims to promote the design and construction of safe, accessible and environmentally efficient buildings that comply with the Building Regulations at a national level through local authority building control.

So whenever a homeowner starts a building project such as an extension or rooms in the roof; their local authority building control department provides advice, guidance and inspections to ensure their project complies with Building Regulations.

LABC has over 3000 professional surveyors and support technicians throughout 12 regions – all expert consultants to the building industry. It works closely with trade organisations, manufacturers, distributors, research establishments, test houses and professional institutions, to support innovation in buildings.
