Remove the VAT on Home Improvements
The high level of VAT (20%) on the majority of home improvements represents a major problem for all households! Eliminating it or even significantly reducing it will make such a big difference to raising standards and vastly improve levels of home efficiency in line with government targets.
Together with many other organisations involved with home improvements, the NHIC is campaigning hard to get VAT completely eliminated or, at least, reduced to no more than 5%.
The NHIC believes that such a VAT reduction will lead to greater investment by UK householders in essential home improvements and the noticeable reduction of ‘cowboys builders’ and other rogue traders!
So help us towards reducing or eliminating VAT by joing in our petition – coming-soon.
